Leisure facilities

The heart of the inn is the atmospheric bar, which we can stock with your choice of lagers, local ales and cider on draught. We have a well chosen wine list, and a gins and spirits list featuring local specialties. We deal directly with local brewers and wine merchants, in order to offer you a true taste of Devon!

We can also offer private events including wine tastings and cocktail mixology.

Our darts alley provides a safe space for darts tournaments with it’s own counter bar. The adjacent snooker room has a three quarter size snooker/ pool table complete with all equipment.

The cosy lounge has an open fire (with child guard) and a small library. We also have a selection of games and puzzles, and local information brochures.

Free wifi is available throughout the inn.

Our Surroundings

The Old Church House is nestled amongst farmland and the ancient Church of the Holy Trinity.

The church houses some rare, pre-reformation Rood Screen panels. One of the most famous- Margaret of Antioch- forms our logo. Although only occasional services are held, the church houses some interesting material on its, and Torbryan’s- history.

From the back windows, you can watch the Devon Ruby cows chewing the cud or suckling calves. Pheasants and hares are regular visitors, as are owls and the occasional bird of prey. The lawned area at the front overlooks the church and provides a view of traditional English pastureland and the neighbouring cider orchard. The lawned area, dotted with fruit trees, is safe for supervised children and dogs.

Our nearest shops are in Ipplepen- a mile and a half away.

Dog friendly

We accept up to two well-behaved dogs at an additional charge of £50 per dog per stay. Our dog policy is: dogs must never be left alone at the property and are not allowed on furniture, including beds, or in the kitchen area.
